Improvement and Expansion of Hatipahar Road from km 489.350 to km 491.600 on NH-07 (old NH-58) to Include Stabilization of Landslides and Conversion to 2 lanes with Paved Shoulder.
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has commissioned us to undertake a project to address the issue of frequent landslides on the Chardham Yatra Motor Road in the district of Chamoli in Uttarakhand. Specifically, we have been tasked with stabilizing the hills at Hatipahar to protect against landslides and upgrading a section of the existing road to a two-lane road with a paved shoulder. The section of road in question stretches from chainage km 489.356 to km 491.600 (design chainage km 471.400 to km 473.675), and is located on National Highway 07 (old NH-58) between Shingdhar Bridge and Vishnuprayag Bridge.
This project is being carried out on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis, as part of the larger effort to improve national highway connectivity to the Chardham region in Uttarakhand. We are committed to completing this project by the year 2022.
The stabilization of the landslide at Hatipahar and the construction and upgrading of the existing road to a two-lane road with a paved shoulder will not only help to prevent future landslides and protect the surrounding hills, but it will also improve the overall safety and reliability of this important stretch of road. This is especially crucial given the high volume of traffic that this road sees, particularly during the Chardham Yatra, a popular Hindu pilgrimage that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
By implementing these improvements, we hope to contribute to the overall economic and social development of the region, as a more reliable and safer road will facilitate the transportation of goods and people, promoting trade and tourism.
Overall, this project represents a significant investment in the infrastructure of the region, and we are committed to completing it to the highest standards of quality and safety.
