244A) between Design Ch. 50+600 to 51+700 and Design Ch. 53+535 to 55+700
on EPC mode under Residual NHDP component of Bharatmala Pariyojna

Bharat Constructions emerged as the lowest bidder for construction of 1.46 km twin-
tube tunnels on the 57.8 km Jammu Ring Road by National Highways Authority of
India (NHAI) in Jammu & Kashmir
The 4 lane Jammu Ring Road project on NH-244A aims to decongest the city by re-
routing NH-44’s traffic around its western peripheral region close to the Line of
Control (LOC) with Pakistan.
The contract’s scope includes 1.46 km long twin tunnels, a 0.692 km cut & cover box
tunnel and a 1.113 km approach road near Nagrota Bypass north of Jammu.
The estimated contract value is Rs 598.99 crore. The scope of the project involves the
construction of twin tube tunnels on Jammu Ring Road (NH-244A) between design
Ch.50.600 to Ch.51.700 and design Ch. 53.535 to Ch.55.700 as well as strengthening
of existing PWD single lane road for a length 7.23km to act as diversion road during
the construction of twin tube tunnels under residual National Highways Development
Project (NHDP) component of Bharatmala Pariyojna Phase-I.
The project will be implemented on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)
mode. The estimated completion period of the project is 24 months.
