Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has come up with construction of 900.30m long tunnel including approaches with 200 m length major bridge on Alaknanda River connecting NH-107. Chardham Development Authority has passed this project which is expected to be the longest tunnel of Uttarakhand connecting Rudraprayag to Gaurikund and Rishikesh Badrinath National Highways. This project will further include construction of 200m bridge, built over Alaknanda River connecting Badrinath National Highways. This Tunnel shall be constructed with a motive to curb the main market traffic and enhance smooth and comfortable journey of Chardham yatris.

The Proposal of this longest tunnel project was prepared in 2008-09, joining Kedarnath-Badrinath Highway in Rudraprayag. After a long decade study and survey, this project was finalized and Bharat Constructions is elated to bagged this project.
